Secondly, it aims to catalyse innovation by identifying problem areas that hinder the adoption of unique products or services. Lastly, it aims to foster collaboration between startups and industry experts, allowing for knowledge sharing and industry mentorship.
What Kinds of Startups Are Eligible for The Challenge?
The challenge is open to DPIIT-recognized startups operating in relevant sectors. Startups at different stages of growth, including ideation stage, startup validation stage, early traction stage, and scaling stage, are eligible to participate. The challenge encompasses a wide range of industries, including analytics, advertising, architecture, interior design, automotive, art, photography, animation, chemicals, computer vision, and more.
What Problems Does MOFPI Intend To Solve Through The Challenge?
Through the challenge, the Food Processing Ministry aims to solves three problems. The first problem statement calls for the development of low-cost primary processing gadgets capable of handling multiple millets. The second statement seeks technology solutions for on-farm, on-shelf, and rural-level safe long-term storage of millets. The third problem statement revolves around innovative concepts for the utilization of food processing wastes, emphasizing the conversion of waste into valuable resources.
What Are The Incentives for Participating Startups?
Participating startups stand to gain both fiscal and non-fiscal incentives. The fiscal incentives include cash prizes of Rs 3 lakh each for six deserving startups. Additionally, selected startups will receive incubation or acceleration support worth Rs 2.50 lakh each through the National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM).
What is The Evaluation Process and Selection Criteria for Startups?
Post submission, the evaluation process will commence after the deadline for applications. A panel of industry experts and government officials will evaluate the submissions based on parameters such as feasibility, scalability, and potential impact.
