The second day of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Association (YEA) Summit 2023, organized by CII – Young Indians (Yi), commenced in the national capital on June 14, 2023. The G20 YEA Summit is a global network that brings together young entrepreneurs and organizations supporting them to champion the importance of youth entrepreneurship to G20 member nations. With India hosting the G20 under its presidency this year, the summit is being held in India and hosted by CII - Young Indians.

Smriti Irani Highlights Inclusiveness at G20 YEA Summit 2023

The three-day event welcomed the presence of Smriti Irani, the Minister of Women and Child Development and Minority Affairs, on its second day. Speaking on the theme "Reinforcing the Power of Inclusiveness: In the Changing World Order," Irani highlighted the multiple dimensions of inclusion and its significance for the youth. She also engaged in a fruitful conversation with Palki S Upadhyay, reflecting on India's inclusive growth agenda and its potential to deliver global solutions.

Spiritual Leader Inspires Happiness and Purpose at G20 YEA Summit 2023

Sri Gauranga Das, a spiritual leader and one of the eminent speakers at the summit, addressed the audience on the topic of "The Happy Entrepreneur." Das emphasized the distinction between success and happiness, stating that while success entails achieving what one desires, happiness lies in the success of aligning one's desires with their true purpose.

He cautioned against the perils of information overload and the importance of finding happiness from within. He also highlighted the negative impact of comparison, compulsion, and criticism in the era of social media, urging entrepreneurs to follow their own paths rather than succumbing to peer pressure.

Successful Startups Share Journey at G20 YEA Summit 2023

The event also featured a discussion with Ghazal Alagh and Varun Alagh, the co-founders of Honasa Consumer Ltd (Mama Earth), two highly successful startups. Ghazal Alagh spoke about the origins of Mama Earth, which was born out of the struggle to find the right products for their son in the Indian market. Varun Alagh emphasized the significance of the "Why" behind their offerings, stating that it is crucial to understand the purpose and values of a product or service. He also revealed the company's plan to launch an initial public offering (IPO), currently awaiting regulatory approval. Varun expressed confidence in the process and emphasized the company's commitment to creating value for investors and the community.

Exciting Lineup for the Final Day

The final day of the summit promises to be equally captivating, with the presence of notable dignitaries such as G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant, Startup20 Chairman Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Union Ministers Jitendra Singh and VK Singh, among others. Prince Fahad bin Mansour Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, representing the Saudi G20 YEA and serving as Chairman of Entrepreneurship Vision, will share insights on the future of entrepreneurship in the changing world order. The event will culminate with the signing and release of a communique, continuing the tradition of collaboration among young entrepreneurs that began at the 2009 G8 summit in Italy and continued through successive G20 YEA Summits.
