Pakistan-Hamas Nexus in PoK: Stand with India—End Diplomatic Delusions

On April 22, 2025, terror shattered the fragile calm of Pahalgam, a picturesque town in India’s Jammu and Kashmir, known for its spiritual resonance and natural beauty. Masked gunmen stopped a tourist bus, checked ID cards, singled out Hindus, and executed 26 civilians in cold blood. The Resistance Front (TRF)—a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba, the same Pakistan-backed terror outfit behind the 26/11 Mumbai attacks—claimed responsibility.

But this massacre was not merely a regional tragedy—it was part of a larger, coordinated assault on democratic nations. It underscored a dangerous convergence of jihadist networks, uniting Pakistani terror proxies with global Islamist movements. Just months earlier, Hamas operatives stood alongside Pakistan-backed extremists in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), forging an ideological and operational axis that now extends beyond South Asia.

As Pakistan deepens its alliances with transnational terror outfits, the world must recognize the truth: Islamist extremism, incubated and weaponized by Islamabad, is no longer confined to the Indian subcontinent. It is a growing geopolitical menace, actively reshaping global security threats—from the streets of Moscow to conflict zones in the Middle East.

Pakistan’s Proxy War: Weaponizing Jihad as State Policy

Since 1947, Pakistan has nurtured ideological hostility toward India, rooted in the two-nation theory and sustained through decades of military dominance over civilian governance. The Pakistani Army and its intelligence agency, the ISI, have systematically weaponized jihad as a policy tool. The doctrine first took form during Pakistan’s invasion of Kashmir in 1947-48 and has continued through its direct support of terror networks.

By 1989, Pakistan escalated this project, fueling an Islamist insurgency in Kashmir. Terror groups like Hizbul Mujahideen, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) received arms, training, and ideological backing from Pakistan’s deep state. The Kargil War in 1999 further exposed Pakistan’s reliance on jihadist proxies. Even after suffering diplomatic and military defeat, Pakistan doubled down on asymmetric warfare, embedding its terror strategy within state policy.

Pakistan’s Terror Machine: A Global Security Crisis Ignored for Decades

Pakistan’s terror networks extend far beyond South Asia, creating instability across the world:

  • Afghanistan: The ISI supported the Taliban and Haqqani Network, orchestrating attacks like the 2008 Indian Embassy bombing and the 2011 assault on the US Embassy in Kabul.
  • Iran: Tehran has repeatedly accused Pakistan of harboring Jaish ul-Adl, a Sunni terror group responsible for cross-border attacks.
  • Russia: In April 2025, Russian intelligence linked Pakistani terror networks to the Moscow concert hall attack.
  • United Kingdom: The 2005 London bombings were traced back to Pakistani terror training camps.
  • Bangladesh: The ISI funded Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), the terror outfit behind the 2016 Dhaka cafe attack.

Even after 9/11, Pakistan played a dangerous double game—extracting billions in U.S. aid while covertly backing terrorists. The sheltering of Osama bin Laden near Pakistan’s elite military academy proved its deep complicity. Today, TRF and its affiliates claim "indigenous" resistance in Kashmir, but the truth is clear: Pakistan is manufacturing terrorism, operating as a rogue military-intelligence complex that has lost control over its own Frankenstein.

The Hamas-Pakistan Terror Nexus: A New Front in Global Jihad

Pakistan’s terror export has entered a dangerous new phase. On February 5, 2025, Hamas representatives, including Dr. Khalid Al-Qadoumi, attended a rally in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The event—billed as the Kashmir Solidarity and Hamas Operation ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ Conference—was held in Rawalakot and featured top operatives from JeM and LeT.

This marked the first known visit of Hamas officials to PoK, signaling an ideological and operational alignment between Palestinian jihadist groups and Pakistan’s terror infrastructure. Hamas leaders framed the insurgency in Jammu & Kashmir as part of a global ideological war against Israel—a link that Indian intelligence has flagged as an effort to merge anti-India jihad with anti-Israel narratives.

Security analysts warn that this Hamas-Pakistan nexus could intensify transnational terror operations, escalating radical Islamist networks beyond South Asia. The presence of Hamas at such a conference exposes Pakistan’s open support for extremist groups and reinforces its role as a global hub for terrorist alliances, posing a direct threat to international security.

Pahalgam Massacre: A Warning to the World About Pakistan’s Radical Agenda

The massacre in Pahalgam wasn’t an accidental tragedy—it was an orchestrated act of ethnic cleansing. Civilians weren’t caught in crossfire; they were executed based on religious profiling. This brutality echoes genocidal strategies witnessed in Iraq, Rwanda, and Bosnia. Yet, global responses remain muted, with diplomatic hedging weakening accountability.

The world must recognize that this isn’t about Kashmir, borders, or territorial disputes. It is about Pakistan’s sustained sponsorship of Islamist extremism—weaponized by a nuclear-armed state that continues to evade consequences for its role in transnational terror.

No More Diplomatic Illusions: Pakistan’s Role in Global Terrorism Exposed

False equivalence between Indian counter-terror measures and Pakistan’s state-sponsored terrorism must end. India is not exporting jihadist violence. India is not sheltering Osama bin Laden or Hafiz Saeed. India is not training suicide bombers to destabilize its neighbors. Yet, international institutions continue treating both nations as equals—calling for “restraint” rather than accountability.

Such neutrality is not diplomacy. It is complicity.

Global democracies must confront Pakistan’s terror apparatus with decisive action. If world leaders fail to act, they risk emboldening jihadist networks that will spread far beyond South Asia.

Five Concrete Steps World Leaders Must Take to Hold Pakistan Accountable

  1. Sanction Pakistani Military Leaders – Impose travel bans and asset freezes on generals and ISI operatives linked to terror activities.
  2. Blacklist Terror Proxies – Designate TRF and other Pakistan-backed fronts as global terror groups under UN frameworks.
  3. Cut Military Aid – Halt all defense cooperation with Pakistan until it dismantles its terror infrastructure.
  4. Diplomatic Isolation – Push to suspend Pakistan from international forums like the Commonwealth and FATF unless it complies with counter-terror norms.
  5. Public Accountability – Global media must investigate and expose Pakistan’s terror networks instead of enabling false narratives. Democracies must call Pakistan’s terror infrastructure by its true name.

The Global Crossroads: Will Democracies Finally Confront Pakistan’s Terrorism?

The blood of the innocent in Pahalgam demands not only justice but clarity. The world faces a moral crossroads: Will it continue appeasing a terror-exporting regime in Islamabad, or will it uphold its commitment to global security and human dignity?

Standing against Pakistan’s terror infrastructure isn’t just about supporting India. It is about defending civilization itself. Diplomatic pretenses have no place in this fight.
