This year's challenge, a cornerstone of the Indo-Danish Green Strategic Partnership, brought together key players like Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, Innovation Centre Denmark (ICDK), and DTU Skylab. With support from organizations like the International Centre for Clean Water (ICCW) and the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the challenge has become a breeding ground for groundbreaking solutions.

Empowering Young Minds to Solve Real-World Problems
The AIM-ICDK Water Innovation Challenge goes beyond technological prowess; it's about empowering young innovators to create real-world impact. Teams from both India and Denmark presented ingenious solutions focused on critical areas like water management, conservation, and accessibility.
"The AIM-ICDK Water Challenge exemplifies India and Denmark's commitment to fostering sustainable, innovative solutions for global water challenges," said Dr. Chintan Vaishnav, Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission. "Our young innovators' remarkable achievements at the Next Gen Digital Action 2024 in Copenhagen underscore the power of international collaboration in addressing pressing environmental issues."
Indian Innovation Takes the Lead
Five Indian startup teams, including university teams Clim8 and Checkmate (VIT Vellore), Qualgrip (IIT Madras), and startups Navmarg and Scrapify, took part in the global Next Generation Digital Action program. Their participation highlighted the growing role of Indian ingenuity in addressing global challenges.
Clim8, a team from VIT Vellore, stole the show by winning the Acceleration Award for their innovative solution to South Africa's challenge of "Leveraging Machine Learning and AI for Infrastructure Pricing." They were also awarded the Best Startup Award in the national category, a testament to their exceptional work.
A Global Stage for Collaboration
The Indian delegation received accolades from H.E. Manish Prabhat, Ambassador of India to Denmark.
"The success of this collaboration highlights the growing partnership between India and Denmark in tackling environmental and technological challenges," he commented. "The achievements of the AIM-ICDK Water Innovation Challenge reflect our joint commitment to fostering sustainable solutions and supporting the next generation of innovators who will shape the future."
The challenge culminated in the Digital Tech Summit, where teams participated in intensive boot camps and pitch sessions, honing their skills and networking with industry leaders and diplomats.
